I come, my Lord, without a tag,
I come without a route
mapped out for me
by learned men
who know what You’re about.

I’ve no advanced theology
nor have I seen Your face.
I come, my Lord —
I dare to come —
if only by Your grace
extended to the little ones,
the poorer of the race.
